Font - we took our dogs to the off leash park in our neighborhood like we do 2-3 times a day, everyday. when we got there we noticed a couple having a picnic ... with a cat running around in a little tunnel thing. we kept our dogs well away as one is a hound mix and tends to chase cats. we simply said "hey do you know this is an off leash dog park? dogs tend to chase cats so maybe not the best place to be." and then we walked our dogs to the other end of the park to play fetch.

Font - the woman chases us down and gets in our faces yelling that we were rude to tell them to leave (we didn't) and that it's a free country and no rules against bringing a cat to a dog park. we simply said sure you can do it but it's a precarious and stressful situation for all of the animals and the rest of the park is on leash and that this is one of 3 off leash dog parks in our city. she screams at us saying that we're rude and disrespectful and should control our dogs, who were calmly sit

Font - Ornery-Ad-4818. 4 hr. ago There's no law or rule against taking a cat to the off leash dog park, because no one imagined it was necessary. Just how crazy do you have to be to think that's the place to bring your cat?

Font - WingedGeek 4 hr. ago Our local dog park is governed by the municipal code which mandates: "No person shall bring any animal, other than a dog, into the Dog Park."

I mean, I think it's pretty safe to say that the morons who took a cat to a dog park, let alone an off-leash dog park, and then started getting in your face because you pointed out that it was maybe not the best idea are the a-holes in the story. Their cat's presence could've caused a situation that could've ended in the cat being hurt or killed because of their owners' idiocy and irresponsiblity. The dogs and even people could've gotten hurt too amid the chaos i

Font - Choice-Commission5 4 hr. ago My dogs are good with cats but that's because they grew up with cats. I will never trust an unfamiliar dog around my cat. What a horrible experience.

Font - Winter-Coffin. 3 hr. ago i went to a park (not dog specific, but lots of dogs were there) and a cute young gay couple brought their ferret on a leash. they set it down for a couple minutes then looked around at all the people with dogs and then packed up their stuff and their ferret and left with an "oops:/" sort of expression.

Reading through the other responses and seeing that people apparently bring cats, rabbits, and ferrets to DOG parks...I'll add that the pig that was continuously brought to our dog park eventually had its' owners ticketed by the city. Everyone was fascinated by this pig, but I was more fascinated by the owners thought it was a grand idea.

Font - zialucina 3 hr. ago . Cat aside, who has a picnic at a dog park? That's asking for all kinds of issues from begging to picnic blanket surfing to food aggression to getting dog poop on your food. It's absolutely disgusting. Ive never seen anyone bring anything but drinks in closed containers to a dog park.
